Las Cuevas Research Station lies in the heart of the Chiquibul Rainforest in the Maya Mountains of Belize and provides a base for scientists undertaking research, conservation and exploration
within the Chiquibul Forest Reserve and National Park. This is the largest protected area in Belize, totaling half a million hectares. It is an area of immense and unexplored biological diversity
and as such provides critical habitat for many endangered species by forming a key part of the largest remaining network of intact tropical forest north of the Amazon.
Due to growing deforestation practices throughout Central America, the Chiquibul Rainforest provides one of the last remaining sanctuaries for many endangered species.
Each can be tailored to your specific needs and interests, and can be anywhere from extremely involved to a relaxing sample. Contact us to learn how you can experience and connect beyond your current existence.
